many times, we read the Noun in our school, but when we come to pick out a Noun in sentences. Often we are confused.

What is a noun?

NounA noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, animal, feeling or idea, thoughts-in fact, anything that can be called.

 Kinds of Noun:

Here I will tell you Kinds of Noun so please read it and know about Noun's kind.

 There are five kinds of Noun:-
1.  Proper Noun ( व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा)
2. Common Noun (जातिवाचक संज्ञा)
3. Collective Noun (समूहवाचक संज्ञा)
4. Concrete Noun ( ठोसवाचक संज्ञा)
5. Abstract Noun (भाववाचक संज्ञा)
6. Material Noun (धातुवाचक संज्ञा)

Proper Noun:  A proper noun is the name of a particular person, place, or thing. All decent Noun start with a capital letter.
Example:- Ram, Shayam, Agra, Delhi, Tajmahal, etc.

Common Noun:  A noun which does not point out any particular person, place, or thing, but is familiar to all persons or something of the same class or kind is called a Common Noun.
Example:- Girl, Boy, Book, Cat, Dog, etc.

Note: Suppose there are four different types of trees in someplace. There are four different trees, different kinds of fruits come on all four, but they all have one thing in common: one type Is the tree, and the word tree will come in the common noun.

Collective Noun:  A collective noun is the name of a collection of person, place, or things taken together and called an array (group).
Example:- Team of players, Bunch of keys, Bunch of Grapes, Heap of stones, etc.

Note: - Suppose I say, crowd. Here crowd, which means a bunch. The crowd cannot be from anyone's creature. For a group, at least one place should have numbers of 10 or 15 people or more. It can take a crowd view, then these types of words which express the feeling of a group, we call them collective nouns. 

Concrete Noun:  A concrete noun can be felt, seen, touched, and tasted.

Abstract Noun:  An abstract Noun is the name of some quality, feeling, or an idea that we can only think of or feel but cannot touch or see.
Example:- Love, Anger, Beauty, Courage, Childhood, Honest, etc.

Material Noun: A material noun denotes the name of material noun.

Example: Gold, Iron, Water, etc.

Countable noun:- A countable noun is the name of anything that can be counted.
Example:- boy, girl, man, woman, room, house, school, cow, and horse, etc.

  • We can say there are two-three or four of them, such as two boys, three girls, four houses, or five cows As we can count them, we call them Countable Nouns or merely Countable.
The names of things that can be counted as separate objects are called Countable Nouns or Countable.

Uncountable Noun:- An uncountable noun is the name of something that cannot be counted.
Example:-  rice, water, air, milk, gold, wood, sugar, etc. 

  • We cannot say there are two, three, or four of them. We cannot mean two kinds of rice, three glasses of water, or four sugars. As we cannot count them, we call them Uncountable Nouns or only Uncountable. The names of things which cannot be counted as separate objects are called Uncountable Nouns or Uncountable.
